Hi, I'm Risteadh,
I'm from the UK but moved to Vantaa to be with my Finnish girlfriend,
and have been interested and following Karhun Kansa for just over a year now and I've been wondering if it is possible to join Karhun Kansa and get involved in the celebrations of Karhun Kansa without being a Finnish national or resident?
I looked at the joining form and it seem you need to be a resident or citizen with an ID number to join.
Is there a way I can join without this?
I do plan on becoming registered as soon as I can but due to the fact I actually study in the UK and go back so regularly I'm not able to at the moment.

If joining officially is not possible, would it be possible to attend and join the celebrations Annual celebrations? (when things go back to normal from Covid)
If it is possible, where do I find information about any celebrations going on?

Attending our annual ceremonies and feasts is possible to anyone, regardless of their background. We have quite a few regular attendees who are not members, and will most likely never be. We also have members, who never attend our events. Both ways (or anything in between) are okay. In order to attend, one must follow this forum or our Facebook pages to get the news and info regarding events, and then notify the organizers etc.

Regarding official membership, our board needs to check if there are any regulatory reasons that would prohibit joining. If there are none, the matter of membership is decided based on an informal interview during one of our annual events. I think you should write an email to our chair at pj@karhunkansa.fi
